“ Baldwin Street Grille has all the makings of a classic neighborhood bar with the added bonus of friendly staff, and great food. I stopped by for brunch, and ordered the Egg's Benedict with the Potato of the day ( Curry Potatoes ) and fruit. The Egg's Benedict was cooked fresh and arrived hot with good flavor. The fruit was fresh, and the Curry Potatoes were also stand out as they arrived hot without being over cooked with a great balance of curry spice. Great brunch at a great price. ”
“ This is a fantastic place to go watch a European football game. The atmosphere is always great, and the service is top notch. They open early on the weekends for big matches which means you won't miss any of the action. Just remember to get there early because it will fill up! ”
“ I flew into Madison and wanted a burger. I grew up in Madison and wanted to eat at an old bar and not new one that taste like every other bar in Madison. I went to Baldwin bar with my mom. Never actually been there before. I don’t drink anymore and they had my favorite athletic NA. I got burger and fries. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had. I almost order another one. This is an old bar so, don’t go here thinking it’s a new bar with apartments above it. Wish I started going here years ago when I lived on the east side. Top notch food! ”
“ Jason was fantastic on a busy Friday night. Had the cheese curds and they were awesome! So glad to have you as a customer, thank you! ”
“ Myself and husband have been coming in here for awhile to get our pub burger fix on. This day we came during brunch. I ordered the brunch burger with fried potatoes. My husband got a scrambler with fried potatoes. The potatoes were supposed to be baby reds, but ended up being baked and not seasoned properly. I ate only half of my burger. But by the time we left and made a 15 minute drive at most elsewhere, I got the shits! Thank God for the bathroom at our destination. We were hoping that perhaps it was a different cook, being it was a different time of day than when we usually go as far as the change. If it's a new cook in general, that will be a loss. I forgivingly ate the remaining burger later and again immediately got the shits. This is a blow. ”
“ Well I was pretty sure I would not be staying when my husband opens the door for me to go inside. I was so pleasantly surprised though. The lighting is good, the space is good and clean and seating was not the least bit crowded. We were greeted by the bar tender/waiter. He was very friendly and attentive. Cocktail was delightful and the burger was great. We will be going back. Did I mention the onion rings? Yum ”
“ Meat raffle was cracking. The burger was good and the broccoli cheddar soup needed seasoning, but I finished it. ”
“ We stopped here because we were going by it during the lunch hour. From the outside it does not look like much, even first impression on the inside is a little different with all the tables being mismatched. At first that might seem like a negative but did give this place some character. After sitting down for a few minutes it was clear that this place has a set of regulars that are well known by the staff. That is always a good sign, if locals will come to a place on a regular basis they must do something right. One of the things they do right is have a great bartender/server. He was busy behind the bar and when he got over to our table apologized for the short wait which really was a short wait. He also talked about our menu choices which was helpful. The food was nice standard bar food. My eye was drawn right a way to the Juicy Lucy. According to the travel channel this originated in Minnesota and actually has two bars up there that compete with which one is better. I was happy to know I could get a burger of similar style closer to home. For those that don't know a juicy lucy has the cheese in the middle of the burger. This resulted in a very good burger. The fries were not my favorite as they were just little pieces of fries but they were not terrible. Overall this was a really good experience that was highlighted by great staff and good food. ”
